ABOUT THE ARTIST
Marie Joy Caldwell is an Artist and Published Illustrator born and raised in the beautiful city of Vancouver, British Columbia. After graduating from Emily Carr University of Art and Design with her BFA in 2015, Marie acquired an Apprenticeship in Tattooing at Karmma Tattoo. Since then she has made a name for herself specializing in fine-line, detail-oriented and illustrative dotwork designs.
A Note from the Artist----
I thought I would take the opportunity to introduce myself
-- Hey there! My name is Marie, I'm a Visual Artist (former art instructor for the city of Burnaby) and now full time Tattoo Artist in Vancouver BC. I spend most of my time drawing Nerdy, horror & weird popculture inspired designs because that's what sparks joy! My profile is a showcase of all the works that I do, including painting, stickers, prints and of course tattoos!
So if you're looking for someone who is as passionate about the things you are, i'm your gal!
I always strive to offer a safe and inclusive space, and I strongly believe tattoos are for everyone who wants them, regardless of age, gender, sexuality, ethnicity, or body type.

I may be biased as I’ve gotten two tattoos from Marie Joy Caldwell (@medusa.illustration), but if you want a tattoo that looks like it could be a storybook illustration, then she’s a must-visit. Her portfolio includes a wide array of pieces, from mythical creatures to landscapes to astrological figures. All of them share one thing in common: fine, crisp detailing.
